Main Professional Activity


Specialist in Internal Medicine, with functional differentiation in the areas of stroke, HIV, and infectious diseases.

Currently practices at the Stroke Unit of the Local Health Unit of the Algarve – Faro, with solid experience in the management of the acute and subacute phases of stroke, structured follow-up in a dedicated Stroke-Medicine outpatient clinic, and the implementation of integrated strategies for rehabilitation and continuity of care.

Since 2024, he has been responsible for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) consultations at the Immunodeficiency Unit, with a focus on key populations and the ChemSex phenomenon, also incorporating the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

He complements his clinical work with training in aesthetic medicine, with a special interest in male health and aesthetics, taking a holistic approach to the physical, sexual, and emotional well-being of his patients.

Main Scientific / Teaching Activity

Keynote speaker at the 2nd European Symposium on STIs (Madrid, 2024), with a presentation focused on PrEP and the ChemSex phenomenon.

Author of multiple scientific articles, including co-author of a paper published in a peer-reviewed journal (PubMed – Cureus, 2024) on haemorrhagic transformation in stroke patients with atrial fibrillation.

Active participant in ESOC 2024 (Basel), focusing on scientific updates and international networking.

Facilitator of clinical and training sessions at the Stroke Unit of ULS Algarve, providing informal supervision to trainees and engaging in institutional Stroke Centre accreditation processes.

Ongoing training in strategic areas (AI, HIV-STIs, Stroke, Aesthetic Medicine), integrating scientific knowledge into clinical practice and digital health innovation.
